Civil Litigation
Civil law, as opposed to criminal law, refers to that branch of law dealing with disputes between individuals and/or organizations, in which compensation may be awarded to the victim. Generally, these are disputes that involve money, or requiring another party to do something or not do something. Examples are breach of contract actions, actions for injunctions, or cases in which the Court is asked to declare the rights of the parties.
