Nathan D. Vis Attorney
Nathan D. Vis is an associate in the Firm’s Civil Litigation, Municipal Law, and Business and Corporate Law sections. Nathan assists in representing local businesses and individuals in commercial litigation involving contracts and construction disputes. He also assists in representing several of the Firm’s municipal clients, ranging from conservancy districts to the City of Valparaiso.
Nathan graduated from Trinity Christian College (Palos Heights, IL) with highest honors in 2007. He attended the Valparaiso School of Law and graduated magna cum laude in 2010. During law school, Nathan clerked for Federal Magistrate Judge Paul Cherry and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Hammond, Indiana, for the Federal Highway Administration, for the Illinois Road and Transportation Builder’s Association, and for the American Medical Association. He also served on the Valparaiso Mock Trial Board and Team, competing in several mid-west competitions and coaching the 2010 Labor Law team.
Prior to joining the Firm in 2012, Nathan was previously associated with a general practice firm located in Portage, Indiana, and assisting in representing the City of Portage and a variety of boards, including code enforcement, park board, and board of zoning appeals. Nathan also represented families with estate and probate needs, businesses with their collection practices and contract drafting, and civil litigation (both jury and bench trials) relating to construction and lease disputes.
Nathan is a member of the Porter County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in both Indiana State Court and federal courts (Northern and Southern District of Indiana). Nathan is also an adjunct professor at Trinity Christian College, in the Political Science Department, and serves on the Board of the Center for Law, Justice and Culture. He is also an active Young Adult leader in his church, Cornerstone Protestant Reformed Church, in Dyer, Indiana.
