| Anna Hearn is an associate in the firm's employment law and litigation section.
An experienced trial attorney, she has tried multiple jury and bench trials on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants. In attempts to avoid litigation, Ms. Hearn has been very successful in settling cases prior to trial.
She represents both employees and employers in employment law matters and regularly advises employers on developing fair business practices and policies. Ms. Hearn is an advocate in state and federal courts and also appears on behalf of employees and employers before administrative bodies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
Ms. Hearn has been repeatedly successful in arguing and writing appeals before the 7th Circuit and the Indiana Court of Appeals. She has also researched, written and successfully argued numerous motions before State and Federal Courts.
Ms. Hearn's practice has encompassed claims under Title VII, Americans with Disability Act, ADEA, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. In addition, her concentration includes, but is not limited to employment law, civil rights discrimination, personal injury claims, child welfare issues, and business and contractual litigation.
Prior to joining the firm in 2003. Ms. Hearn was counsel to a major insurance company. A 1999 graduate of Valparaiso University School of Law, she was a law clerk in the office of the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Indiana and for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) in Chicago and is an active member of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
A native of Hammond and a 1991 graduate of Chesterton High School, Ms. Hearn is a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the American Power Boat Association. |
